Healthcare Support Worker & Adult Social Care Worker Course

Course Overview

This course is designed to comply with  standards 1 and 2 of the Skills for Care National Minimum Training Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England

Who needs this qualification?

This qualification is specifically targeted at employees working in  Care homes and Hospitals

Why is this training important?

Adequately trained staff will reduce the risk of litigation, as well as ensuring the health and safety of patients/residents. It is also a requirement under Standards one and two of the Skills for Care National Minimum Training Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England

1.1. Understanding your own role

1.2. Your relationship with others

1.3. Working in ways that have been agreed with your employer

x1.3.1 Understand your employment rights and responsibilities

x1.3.2 Be aware of the aims, objectives and values of the service in which you work

2.1. Produce a personal development plan

x2.1.1 Know where you can get support for your personal development

x2.1.2 Be aware of how others can help to review and prioritise your learning needs and development opportunities

x2.1.4 Know how to record the progress you make in relation to your personal development plan


2.2. Use learning opportunities and ‘reflective practice’ to contribute to
personal development

x2.2.1 Know the functional level of literacy, numeracy and communication skills necessary to carry out your role

x2.2.2 Be aware of ways to check your current level of literacy, numeracy and communication skills

x2.2.3 Understand the importance of reflective practice to continuously improve the quality of the service you provide

x2.2.4 Know how to measure your own knowledge, performance and understanding against relevant standards

x2.2.5 Be aware of the learning opportunities available to you and how you can use them to improve the way you work

Course details

The Course is 3 Hours duration and will be delivered at your own premises or at a convenient  off site location. Delegates will receive a Handout Pack and Course Outline for use on the day Delegates will also  receive a Certificate of attendance  within a week  of the event. All courses are fully evaluated using our own documentation but in-house evaluation methods can be used if preferred.
